The lotus flower symbolises hope, purity and a path to enlightenment. This analogy relates to the human spirit and the journey that we take in life. The seed of the lotus flower is buried deep in the mud, the seed travels from the darkness into the light. The long stem rises above the surface water, representing inner strength and perseverance against adversity. Once the journey is complete the lotus flower will always blossom, symbolising growth and determination. The world is full of suffering and just like the human spirit; in order to grow we must encounter difficulties and obstacles. This human experience can help us rise above so we can gain wisdom, develop and choose the right path.
